Reminder and More Peeks

This is just a reminder that all Guest DT submissions are due today. We have had MANY beautiful submissions already and it's going to be a very hard decision for us, but we still hope that everyone applies. Best of luck to all!

Here are a few more DT peeks as well! Are these girls rockin' this kit or what?!:

A Better Look

Here is a better look at the papers we will be featuring for our Sept kit! Still just a peak, but a close up one...

A Little Sneaky Peeky

I am so pleased to show everyone a couple of layouts that have been designed using our very first kit "Jardin Secret" (Secret Garden):

The first is created by DT member Kay Rogers. This is a photo of her beautiful daughter, Jenna:

The second I designed myself and although my work is not DT quality, it will give a different look as to what can be done with the kit. This is a photo of my son and my mother and is titled "A Grandma's Love".

Guilty Pleasures

It's Sunday so that means it's time for another challenge. This week we invite you to scrap your Guilty Pleasure! Maybe you love vacuuming so much, you do it 3 or 4 times a day, or you're listening to Air Supply 24/7! Perhaps you do the chocolate-chip cookie-dough thing at 1am (been there, done that!) or never miss a Cher or Billy Ray Cyrus performance.... whatever it is, scrap it! Either a photo of it, the feel of it, or just build the layout around the words. Whatever it is, share it with us....we won't tell!

You will have until midnight EST (New York City time zone) Sunday, Sept. 4th to complete your project. Get all the details in our forum. The winner, chosen by the design team, will be announced both on the Blog and in the forum. The winner will receive a RAK from C'est Magnifique!

Have fun!

Our First Challenge - Out with the Old

Welcome to our very first challenge! C'est Magnifique member, Aggie, has been talking about all the old paper she has. Seems she has quite a bit of old paper and needs some motivation to use it. Well, we are here to help you Aggie (and all you other paper collectors out there - you know you're one of them). Our challenge this week is to use the paper that you've been hoarding. The older, the better. We challenge you to also get out some of those old embellishments and those alphabets that are so old the adhesive has dried up, and create a layout or card.

You will have until midnight EST (New York City time zone) Sunday, August 28 to complete your project. Please upload it to the August "Out with the Old" folder in the gallery and also in the forum post for this challenge. Don't forget to let us know all the old products you used. The winner, chosen by the design team, will be announced here and in the forum. The winner will receive a RAK from C'est Magnifique.

Have fun! We can't wait to see what old stuff you find in your stash.

Sept 2011 Guest Designers

I am so happy to announce our September 2011 Guest Designers - Libby Jack and Laurie Walton! Both of these women have a style all their own! Libby has a very eclectic style that brings bold colors and ever-present journaling and Laurie is the queen of layers! She also rocks the Cricut like nobody I have ever seen! Here is a short bio of each of our designers:

Laurie Walton

Hi, My name is Laurie, I am a christian mom to 2 Beautiful grown children and now have a Son -n- law and Daughter -n- law, So I like to say I have 4 kids. My husband and I run and own an adult foster home here in the beautiful state of Oregon. It has it's challenging moments, but also it has a lot of positives. I enjoy helping them and taking them places they enjoy as well. I love to read, take walks, and be with family. My most favorite hobby is scrapbooking, I try to get in as much as possible. I also really enjoy taking pictures. I count everyday as a Blessing and a gift from God.

Libby Jack

Hello, Fellow Scrappers... I am Libby, and you can find me tucked amongst the green hills of rural "Middle-of-Nowhere", Pennsylvania. I am a dedicated single mom of two boys, Jaxon (5) and Levi (12), and I'm a full-time university student working toward my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology. Believe it or not, I absolutely LOVE doing homework and studying my major, and I think the best word to describe myself, other than Mom, is "NERD". ;)

I walked away from scrapbooking in 2006 after the unexpected death of my fiance. My whole scrap-life had been very much about him, so I felt I had to abandon the hobby for a while and regroup. Recently, I caught the Scrapbooking Flu again, and I have been catching up on 5 years worth of photos and memories. I am very enthusiastic about coming back into a past-time that I find so rewarding. And I also look forward to being inspired by everyone here at C'est Magnifique... I am grateful for the opportunity to share tidbits of my life and imagination with you!!

I look forward to working with both of these women and I just can't wait to see what they come up with using our first kit!

I also want to take a moment to remind everyone of our call for the Oct, Nov and Dec Guest Designers! Read our previous blog entry for more info...

Our Design Team!

I want to welcome three fabulous women to my team! I can't begin to tell you how excited I am to work with these women! Each brings something unique to the team and I am sure that they will inspire all of us to create layouts and projects we never thought possible! So, without further ado, here they are...

Valerie Serfozo

Hi there. I'm Valerie Serfozo and I am so excited to be a member of the C’est Magnifique design team. I live in Ohio with my husband Mark and our little dog, Kiefer (who loves to sleep under my work table). We have a grown son and a sweet granddaughter. I work part-time as the financial secretary at a church. I have always loved photos, so it only seems natural that in 2000 I decided to explore the world of scrapbooking. I was immediately captivated. I am amazed at how much the industry has grown since then.

When not working I am either scrapbooking, making cards, thinking about design, or in search of inspiration. I also love the art of mixed media and keep several ongoing art journals. I am a morning person, so my favorite time to scrap is early in the day with a cup of hot tea. You will never find me up at 2 a.m. finishing a page. If there were an additional 8 hours in a day I would read more, do more for others, and work on becoming a better photographer. I favor the mountains over the beach, and my dream is to spend several weeks in Italy.

Beverly Sams

I'm Beverly Sams and I live with my husband in the Florida Panhandle along the beautiful Emerald Coast and sugar white sandy beaches. I have one son who is in college in Texas. After several years of running my own successful faux finishing and mural business, creating faux finishes up to three stories high for private and model homes and show houses, I decided to concentrate solely on fine art, painting primarily in oils. In 2004, I was invited to the White House for a Christmas Party to unveil the Blue Room Christmas tree for which I painted an ornament. This year, I decided to return to my first love, paper, and I've not looked back except to draw on those previous experiences for my layouts and other projects. I enjoy nothing more than wading through piles of beautiful paper and embellishments to find the next layout in the making. I'm thrilled to be part of the Cest Magnifique team!

Kay Rogers

I have been scrapbooking for the last 8 years. I decided when my youngest was turning one that I was going to do a scrapbook of her first year. I've been hooked ever since! I'm the proud mom of Emily who is a biology teacher in Chicago, and Jenna who is going into the 4th grade. I've been married to my husband Bill for 16 years. I teach high school math in my hometown, and I absolutely love my job! I am looking forward to working with these gorgeous kits, and in becoming part of this new community!

Guest Designer Call!

C'est Magnifique Kits Guest Designer Call
http://www.cestmagnifiquekits.com/
End Date: Aug 31, 2011

C'est Magnifique, a brand new kit club, is looking for a guest designer for the month of October.

To explain what we are all about, we at C'est Magnifique aspire to bring something a little different to our monthly kits. It is our intention to predominately offer sophisticated, international papers each month from countries such as France, Poland, Sweden, etc. At times there will also be a smattering of American papers and we plan to provide some international embellishments as well.

Although parts of our website are still being designed, we do have the bulk of it done and you are free to visit us at http://www.cestmagnifiquekits.com to get a feel for our design style.

As for responsibilities, our guest designers will be responsible for creating at least 5 layouts with their kit. We would also love it if you would visit our website and take part in the forums and gallery, but this is by no means a requirement. We would like to see your layouts as they are developed as well so that we can post some sneaks once a week to our blog. We also ask that you 'advertise' our site using online galleries and your own blog or website for both the sneaks and the reveal day. Lastly, you would need to upload your creations to our gallery on reveal day.

As a perk, you will get the monthly kit for free and be able to purchase any items from the store at a significant discount throughout the month of your position.

This guest designer call will be open through August 31st. Please submit 3 of your favorite layouts along with your name, address and any galleries and blog information to leslie@cestmagnifiquekits.com. Please put Guest DT in the subject line.

International applicants are welcome to apply.
